THE TEAM

Carey

Founder

I have worked for the NHS for 31 years, first as a nurse and then as a midwife. I have been a delivery suite co-ordinator since 2001. Being well prepared for labour and birth makes such a difference to the experience women have. That’s why I am thrilled to help you prepare to meet your new baby! Lorna, Sonya and I have known each other for many years, both as friends and colleagues. We work well as a team and hold the same passion and values around midwifery. That’s why I know we  make an amazing antenatal education team! We can’t wait to meet you and help you on your path to becoming new parents. I am a mum of twins and of our beloved, but mad labrador called Marmite!

Lorna

Founder

I qualified as a midwife in 2002. Although I remain a clinical midwife working locally, I am also a senior university Midwifery Lecturer. My passion and experience of teaching has supported the Brilliant Birth Company to write and offer a comprehensive, evidence based antenatal course for you to enjoy. Teaching and supporting the midwives of tomorrow is incredibly rewarding and fulfilling, however, the education of women to achieve the right birth for them is my passion. I am so excited to be part of this incredible team and look forward to welcoming you on your new journey. I am a mother of three and have a mad cockapoo called Milo!

Sonya

Founder

I have worked in the NHS for 23 years and 20 of those have been as a midwife. I am a  passionate believer that couples should have a positive birth experience and encourage this in my daily practice. At present, I work as a delivery suite lead and co-ordinator and I am in a unique position to empower couples with their choices. I am a mum of two humans, two dogs, and a possessed cat! I can’t wait to meet you and share your journey with you.
